Fan Speed

So, given that this power supply has such a fancy fan within it? How did it perform? Was it whisper quiet? Well, the short answer to that last question is yes, but not likely for the reasons you’re expecting. – Put simply, throughout all of our load testings, the fan never deemed it necessary to operate once. – And before you ask, yes, it does work as it kicked into life during our OPP testing.

The bottom line, however, is that this power supply cools itself so well in a passive state (a definite testament to a quality design) that the inclusion of this seemingly potent Nidec fan begins to look even more pointless than it did before. – Is it a good fan? Probably. The specs for it are certainly very impressive. I do, however, have to stick with my conclusion that this PSU simply didn’t need it. In a nutshell, it looks to be a poor combination, but not due to any individual fault.
