ADATA XPG Summoner Mechanical Gaming Keyboard Review

How Much Does it Cost?

The ADATA XPG SUmmoner Cherry MX Mechanical Gaming Keyboard is available from today with an MSRP of £115.00. Unfortunately, the stock wasn’t available at the time I wrote this review, but I will add the links as soon as they’re available. However, you can check for up to date stock from Amazon UK here or Amazon US here.

Overview

ADATA may not be the first name people shout out when you ask them to name a mechanical gaming keyboard company. However, their XPG gaming division is rapidly gaining pace in the enthusiast gamer market. They’ve delivered a wide range of award-winning peripherals over the last couple of years, and the XPG Summoner is a prime example of this. Clearly, they’re listening to what their customers want and keen to deliver premium quality products to meet that demand.

Build Quality

They haven’t really cut any corners here at all. Sandblasted aluminium top panel, a soft memory foam magnetic wrist rest, thickly braided cables, custom keycaps, Cherry MX switches. They’re ticking every box here, making it easy to compare against some of the big-name rivals out there. It’s not that XPG is better than the best, but their new keyboard has the quality to stand shoulder to shoulder with any other high-end brand.

Gaming Performance

Again, it’s right on the money here too. Cherry MX switches are a good place to start, as consumers typically know they’re getting premium-quality switches that’ll be good for many millions of keystrokes. The X-factor comes from added features though. 100% anti-ghosting, built-in gaming mode, macros, hot-swapping of profiles, etc. All these make the keyboard easier to live with and can help with the gaming experience.

Should I Buy One?

At this price range, the ADATA XPG Summoner is extremely competitive in today’s market. It’s a great price for a keyboard with this many features and this level of build quality. Most high-end mechs at this price have a plastic shell. Great aesthetics, superb build quality, lots of practical features and most importantly of all, great gaming performance.
