ADATA is announcing the availability of their new XPG SX6000 M.2 SSD in the UK. This solid-state drive is aiming for gamers on a limited budget but want the PCIe NVMe storage performance. Delivering speeds of 1000MB/s read and 800MB/s write, it offers almost twice the speed of regular SATA SSDs. In comparison, a fast SATA SSD hits 550MB/s read and 500MB/s write.
Each XPG SX6000 uses a Realtek NVMe 1.2 controller on a PCIe Gen3 x2 interface with 3D TLC NAND. Most modern motherboards come with M.2 slots supporting up to PCIe Gen3 x4 these days so most users will find upgrading easy. Each drive has wear leveling, DRAM cache and SLC caching to ensure better load distribution and sustained performance.
The XPG SX6000 is available in capacities starting at 128GB, and 256GB, but it will also be available in 512GB and 1TB versions. Considering its speed, it is actually a superior bang-for-buck option in direct comparison to SATA equivalents. For those looking for faster speeds, ADATA also offers the SX7000 (1800/850 MB/s R/W), SX8000 (2400/1000 MB/s R/W) and SX9000 (2400/1460 MB/s R/W) M.2 NVMe SSDs.
Pricing Information
The 128GB version has an MSRP of only £59.00 while the 256GB version has an MSRP of £89.00.
