ADATA XPG SX9000 M.2 Officially Released

We reported about the ADATA SX9000 M.2 SSD three months ago even before the unveiling at Computex 2017, but it is finally available. The ADATA XPG SX9000 uses a new Marvell controller with sequential read speeds of up to 2800 MB/s. It also boasts sequential write speeds of up to 1450 MB/s. Needless to say, it uses the PCIe Gen3x4 interface to get these speeds unlike SATA M.2s. In terms of IOPS performance, it can reach 310K random 4K read and up to 140K random 4K write. The XPG SX900 uses a typical 2280 form factor (22mm wide and 80mm long) and supports NVMe 1.2.

In terms of capacities available, the XPG SX9000 can be had for as little as 256GB and is also available up to 1TB. A 512GB capacity middle ground is also available. Each drive has a 2 million hour mean-time before failure, as well as a total-bytes written of up to 1000TB. This should provide users who are worried about SSD lifespan some peace of mind. That is of course, aside from the extended 5-year warranty coverage.

ADATA XPG M.2 Line

Aside from the XPG SX9000, ADATA also previously released the XPG 8000 and XPG 7000 drives. Both are also M.2 2280 NVMe SSDs using PCIe Gen3x4 interface. As you might have gathered from the name, the SX9000 is the fastest of the three. The SX7000 is available in a smaller 128GB capacity as well but is limited to 1800MB/s read and 850MB/s write with its 3D TLC NAND. The SX8000 is quite a bit faster at 2400MB/s read and 1000MB/s write. Although it shares the use of MLC NAND, it is still not as fast as the new SX9000. All three drives use 3D NAND and they all share a 5-year warranty length.
