Aerocool Mechatron White Edition Mid-Tower Chassis Review

First up, apologies for the dodgy looking backgrounds in some of these photos, I tried to photograph this on a black background and it just didn’t do it justice, so I have gone for a white on white approach which really shows the chassis (literally) in its best light.

From the side of the chassis you can see that it sports a custom shaped acrylic side window, which can hold two 120mm/140mm fans or one 200mm fan thanks to the pre-cut mounting holes. It also provides a fantastic view of the inside of the chassis, but we’ll get to that in a moment.

Across the top of the chassis we have a similar set of mounting options, providing room again for either 2 x 120/140mm or 1 x 200mm fan.

Toward the top front of the chassis we also have 2 x USB 3.0 compatible ports, as well as the Power/Reset buttons and audio I/O sockets.

While the whole chassis is full of bumps, cut angles, quirky shapes and more, it’s the front of the chassis that really stands out from the crowd. With what appears to be a front panel styled on a Transformers face the Mechatron (a name like a Transformer too I might add) really does look fantastic, especially with that contrast of black and white. The is room for three 5.25″ drives at the top and plenty of ventilation through the black mesh at the bottom.

Around the back of the chassis is the only simple looking part of the design. A plain white panel covers up the cable management area of the chassis, but as its all finished in high quality white paint, even this panel looks great.

There is plenty going on around the back too. With quick release thumb screws for the side panels, a pre-installed 120mm fan, three rubber grommet’s in the cut-outs for routing any water cooling or cables. Below all that we have 7 replaceable expansion slot covers, each cut with ventilation holes and a large ventilated area to the right of those. Finally we have a bottom mounted PSU cut-out with support for inverted mounting of the PSU.
