A big name like QNAP commands an absolutely massive booth here at Computex 2017. They’ve rolled out a vast range of products from their enterprise to their home solutions.
First up, we have this stunning looking beast. The QNAP TS-x77 Series. What’s so special about this? It’s powered by Ryzen! Intel has dominated this market for a long time, but with Ryzen, 3 x PCIe 3.0 slots, Dual 10 GbE, USB 3.1 A and C, this is one incredible unit.
OK let’s say “affordable” in the sense it’s going to be one of the cheapest units yet. But a 4 bay high-powered 10 GbE NAS is still going to bust the bank for most.
This one is a fairly similar design to the Ryzen powered NAS. However, it comes with high-end Intel CPUs, and Thunderbolt 3 support.
That’s a lot of NAS for one show. We’re especially excited about the new Ryzen options. When it comes to having a home media center, the Ryzen 8-core 16-thread CPUs are going to be amazing for on-the-fly video transcoding. Ryzen chips on this level are cheaper than Intel too, so this could be more affordable too.
