Final Thoughts

Price

The AfterShoks Trekz Titanium Bone Conduction Headphones are available from Amazon for just £109.99, which is obviously not cheap, but keep in mind they’re packed with features and designed for sports activities too, which I think makes them a bit of a bargain.

Overview

Typically I’m not the kind of end-user who would buy something like the Trekz, but I’d have to be mad to see they’re not a great product with a huge range of uses. I could use these to listen to my music anywhere while still being aware of my surroundings. With in-ear or even over-ear headphones usually working to block out ambient noise, it’s a big change in how things sound and it does take some getting used to, but as far as safety is concerned they’re a step in the right direction.

With the design being incredibly flexible, lightweight and strong, they’re unlikely to ever feel like a burden while you’re working out. IP55 certification means you shouldn’t have to worry about sweat, dust or moisture either, although you can’t wear them in the shower or the pool, so don’t get too carried away.

The 6 hour battery life is a nice bonus too, it’s unlikely you’ll be wearing them more than that per day anyway and I would likely still use my normal in-ear headphones on the train, bus, flights, etc, but with easy charging via the included USB cable, it’s easy enough to keep them ready to rock for your next workout.

Bone conduction headphones may not be for everyone or everything, but when it comes to delivering a stylish, well made and feature packed headset that gives you incredible flexibility and added safety, they simply cannot be beaten.

Pros

  • Bone conduction drivers
  • Built-in microphones with noise cancelling tech
  • Exceptional build quality
  • IP55 certification
  • Bluetooth
  • Rechargeable 6 hour battery
  • Secure headband/over ear mounting system
  • Stylish design
  • Fair price given range of features

Cons

  • None

“The Trekz aren’t going to have you throwing away your favourite music headphones for day-to-day music listening, but when you’re out on your bike, hitting the gym or going for a run, you’ll want to reach for the Trekz every single time.”
