AGON by AOC Launch its New PRO AG344UXM Gaming Monitor

AGON by AOC has announced the launch of its new AGON PRO AG344UXM, a 34″ (86.4 cm) ultrawide monitor with breath-taking credentials: a MiniLED backlight with 1152 dimming zones to achieve an eye-catching high-level DisplayHDR 1000, 170 Hz refresh rate, 1 ms GtG response time for smooth motion and a high UWQHD resolution of 3440×1440 for increased clarity and detail. While providing great immersion in simulation, racing, and first-person titles where extra peripheral vision benefits the user, the AG344UXM also covers home-office and streaming tasks gracefully thanks to the built-in HDMI 2.1, USB-C connectivity and an integrated KVM switch.

AGON PRO AG344UXM Gaming Monitor

The AG344UXM expands the AGON PRO portfolio of high-end monitors for enthusiast gamers with an exceptional ultrawide model. With a MiniLED backlight, the AG344UXM features a superior amount of 1152 dimming zones that can individually light up or turn off to achieve localised areas in the pitch black or sections illuminated at 1000 nits peak brightness within the same frame.

Certified with VESA DisplayHDR 1000, this high dynamic range increases the perceived contrast immensely and creates a lifelike image, displaying scorching sunlight and deep, dark shadows simultaneously without washing out the total image. With the colour-accurate IPS panel, the AG344UXM offers wide viewing angles of 178°/178°, 10-bit colour depth and wide gamut coverage of 99% DCI-P3 and 100% sRGB, reproducing punchy and vivid hues, just as intended by the game artists.

The AG344UXM belongs to AOC’s highest-tier AGON PRO portfolio, which aims to deliver future-proof, top-level technologies to the legends of the gaming community. Backed up by the 170 Hz refresh rate and 1 ms GtG response time of its fast IPS panel, the AG344UXM naturally excels as a gaming monitor with smooth, fluid motion in fast-paced action titles, including Adaptive-Sync technology to remove tearing and stuttering. Furthermore, the ultrawide aspect ratio fills the users’ vision field and brings immersion to a new level.

Versatility At Its Best!

The AG344UXM is a clear contender as the definitive single display for all tasks from entertainment/gaming to work and productivity. Featuring DisplayPort 1.4 and the future-proof HDMI 2.1 connectivity, the AG344UXM can be easily connected to the latest generation of GPUs or current-gen consoles. Additionally, the AG344UXM features USB-C input, which supports transferring the full display signal with 170 Hz refresh rate and 10-bit colour, while providing 90 W USB Power Delivery simultaneously. This means that a gaming/high-end laptop or a powerful mini PC can also be connected to the monitor to take advantage of the monitor’s high refresh rate using USB-C while being powered and charged.

The USB-C connectivity is only a fraction of the total USB docking capabilities. The AG344UXM features a 4-port USB hub with a USB-B upstream port. In practice, a keyboard and mouse connected to the AG344UXM’s USB hub can be toggled with the KVM switch to control the device connected via the USB-C port (e.g. a laptop) or via the USB-B upstream port (e.g. a desktop PC), providing total control over multiple devices with a clean desk. To get the best out of the wide horizontal canvas, the AG344UXM also supports the Picture-by-Picture mode.

Today’s high-end gamers are more than familiar with showing off their talents and capabilities on live streams or epic montages, and there is an increasing number of gamers who are becoming content creators. For this kind of audience, the AG344UXM makes absolute sense. The ultrawide aspect ratio is not only immersive for games, but increases productivity in work-related tasks as well. Much more of the timeline in a video editing software is visible at a single glance on an ultrawide monitor such as the AG344UXM. In day-to-day tasks, two applications fit side-by-side, improving multitasking. Alternatively, the additional screen real estate can fit a stream chat window or the streaming software alongside the actual game. The advantage of the AG344UXM’s 21:9 aspect ratio also shines when watching movies, accompanied by 2x 8 W DTS-enhanced speakers.

The striking design of the AG344UXM follows the design language of its AGON PRO siblings with 3-sides frameless front side and red accents on the back, bestowed upon with the “Red Dot Design Award”. For increased customisation, the LightFX RGB lighting on the rear can be synchronised with other AOC peripherals using the G-Menu software. In terms of ergonomics, the sturdy metal stand of the AG344UXM offers tilt and swivel adjustments to cater to individual preferences.

The AG344UXM’s OSD settings can be adjusted using the wired remote (QuickSwitch), the 5-way joystick on the back, or the aforementioned G-Menu software. This lets users select – among other options – one of the 6 dedicated game modes, toggle settings such as AOC Game Color (saturation), Dial Point (crosshair overlay), FPS counter, or the LowBlue mode.

Price & Availability

AOC has confirmed that the AGON PRO AG344UXM monitor will be available from July 2022 at an MSRP of £1,429.99. – Although an official website for the AGON PRO AG344UXM has yet to be launched (or go live) if you would like to learn more about display products from AGON by AOC, you can check out their website via the link here!
