Airtame Wireless HDMI Streaming Dongle Review

Windows Companion Application
The companion application is quickly downloaded from the internet and installed. Once installed, it will automatically detect all Airtame devices on your network. When running, it resides in your task area from where it loads quickly by sliding in from the right side of the screen.
By default, the app sends everything as images. That saves bandwidth, decreases latency, and generally improves the performance. But images just won’t cut it when you need video or sound transferred too. That’s no problem for the Airtame either, you just have to turn the Manual Mode on.
There are a few other app-specific settings such as letting it start when Windows starts and whether to show a notification when streaming. You can also read out the log files, chat with the Airtame staff to send feedback, or manually set up another Airtame device.
Each device is configured individually, and as you can see, there is a full set of features. From automatic updates over pin code connection to LED control. It’s all here.
Connecting the Airtame to the cloud is easy too. All you have to do is enter the token from your cloud dashboard into the appropriate field and apply the changes. You can also control the output resolution to match your monitor.
Other than that, you only have to hit the Start button to stream your desktop content to your Airtame. The settings are optional, but they do let the dongle deliver a lot more features.
