Airtame Wireless HDMI Streaming Dongle Review

Mobile Companion Application

There is a mobile companion app for both Android and iOS available. It is not nearly as powerful as the desktop equivalent, but it’s being worked on. I talked with the team behind the Airtame after receiving it and they told me it is something that’s being worked intensively on.

The Airtame app is naturally free and available in the Google Play store. It is compatible with close to any device and I didn’t run into any trouble using an older 7″ Samsung Tab2 tablet.

Once installed, you can stream images and pdf files via the app. Video and audio isn’t supported at this point. You can also connect the app to online folders such as those from Dropbox, Google Drive, Box, and OneDrive. The last feature allows you to stream data that isn’t located on your device.

The app is quite easy to use, but as mentioned, not as comprehensive as the desktop version.

Still, with the ability to stream slides and pdf files, most aspects of an average presentation should be covered.
