Conclusion
I am overall very impressed with this device, it only has a few negatives, one being it is slightly noisy but that will be the same with all of these devices and i did test this device with what I know is not the queitest of mechanical drives! However, unfortunately, although this is really a positive, to get the best out of this dock you will need to use SSD’s as this dock has the headroom for all SATA II mechanical drives and it is at leasty 3 times quicker than USB 2.0 interfaces. The potential is there for 8/9 * the speed of USB 2.0 when using the right hard drive. The fact it can cope with such high speeds makes it fairly future-proof as it will do justice to drives that can read/write around the 200 MB/s mark.
This device is also remarkably easy to set-up with Winodws in fact there is literally no setting up and it is just Plug and Play’ which is brilliant and allows you to use this on various computers at ease. This device is also designed for 2 hard drives which could give you a huge amount of extra storage. This device is also at a very good price point. This is a device that does certainly tick all the boxes and there are only a few negatives and one of those can’t be avoided.
