Final Thoughts
Now that we’ve finished testing the unit, we can be honest and give more of an insight as to where this type of power supply would be more commonly used. We found, whilst it performed fantastically in our usual tests, it would be suited more for HTPC’s and servers, hence we will be using it from now on in an AMD Fusion based server, as it fits the bill perfectly with a low rating of 450watts and keeping an 80% efficiency rating which caters perfectly for a system that is likely to see some major 24/7 action over the next year. Couple all of this with a silent operation and you have got one fantastic power supply in your hands.
Obviously there are some users who will disagree and will only perk up when they see PSU’s above the 1Kw limit, but we’re here to give some education and inform the masses that it’s not always about the power/size of your e-penis and that a product of this nature has its place in the market.
The final clinch is obviously going to be price, which at around £40 GBP it presses all of the right buttons, as it gives good power regulation, whilst keeping the unit cool and doesn’t leave your wife complaining at you for spending the earth. What more could you want?
