Akasa Venom CPU Cooler

Final Thoughts
[COLOR=#000000][FONT=Tahoma]The results are pretty conclusive when compared with the Akasa 968 and the AMD Stock Cooler, however the Venom was designed to rival these and to give a better performance than both of these coolers which it certainly does do. Although this was not included in our testing we did at one point add on an extra 12cm fan to the Akasa Venom and found that the temperatures were not in fact at all lower and this did of course just add to the sound volume.

If you are someone who is currently using your stock cooler then this for a very small cost is a perfect upgrade. As proven by the remarkably low fan speeds needed to maintain temperatures of mid 30 degrees C on an overclocked quad-core processor it will remain very quiet – especially if used with a less powerful/not overclocked CPU. In fact this cooler operates at ¼ of the AMD’s stock cooler fan speed and achieves better performance at this. This shows how much more potential is in the Akasa Venom.

From previous temperature recordings we are quite confident in saying that it would be able to beat the Xigamatek HDT-S963F, Spire Thermax Pro and Gerid Solutions Silent Spirit. In fact this cooler is certainly in the same league as the CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Plus recently reviewed and is priced quite similarly, however if put against each other I believe the Akasa Venom would win as it allows for greater air flow and at quieter noise outputs.

It must be noted that the Akasa Venom is extremely quiet, when running at full speed it only emits 28.9 dBA and at the lowest speed a mere 6.9 dBA – in fact under cool and quiet operation we couldn’t hear this over the background noise from the Power Supply.

This cooler is certainly priced well and will give a huge boost to any user who wants a quiet CPU cooler that allows for large overclocking with air systems.
