AKASO EK7000 Pro Ultra HD 4K Action Camera Review

How Much Does It Cost?

The AKASO EK7000 Pro retails for a price in the region of £65. I must admit that seeing how much this action camera comes with and how much it offers, I find that exceptionally good value.

Yes, admittedly, you can spend more and get much better quality images. For someone who wants to start out in the world of action camera filming, this is a perfect price and good value for performance.

How Easy Is It To Use?

Everything about the camera has a nice intuiative design. Whether you are well experienced with these devices or an absolutely beginner, you should have no difficulty in getting very quickly to grips with this.

From out of the box, there’s no reason why you couldn’t be making films within 10 minutes!

The interface, touch screen and control buttons all work well and even when the waterproof casing is attached.

The remote control, however, provides an excellent coup de gras. It makes the operation of it so much easier. The first button – Click to start filming, click to stop. The second button – 1 click for an instant photograph!

Practicality

You can easily retreive all of your saved images and photographs by simply plugging the device into your PC or laptop. If you are, however, a bit more tech savvy, you can easily set this up to post directly to your social media feeds.

The wireless functionality is a bit trickier, but once you can the hand of it it’s remarkably easy to get stuff out there for your friends to watch!

Should I Buy One?

There are, of course, lots of action cameras around and while there are some less expensive than this one, most of them are better located within a bin than on your crash helmet.

The AKASO EK7000 isn’t perfect and there certainly are action cameras out there that can take better quality images. For this price though? – You’re honestly going to struggle to find anything better than this!

PROS

  • Lightweight and durable.
  • Easy to use.
  • Impressive features for a product at this price point.
  • Ideal for beginners or enthusiasts.
  • Lots of clips/straps to get this camera exactly where you want it!

CONS

  • Needs a micro-SD card – Not provided with one (I always find this annoying!

NEUTRAL

  • Still camera quality is highly dependent on lighting.
  • This might be a 4K video camera, but don’t expect to be blown away by the quality.
