Price
The Office Series Obsidian Chair is set at an MSRP price of £499.00. This representative value of this depends on your personal perspective. While this does all the features that a high-quality gaming chair would, this has been designed to give the far more professional look. If you were, therefore, after a chair that gave all the perks seen from a gaming standpoint, but would look entirely suitable in an office environment, you’d struggle to do better for less!
Overview
Given that the Obsidian is one of AKRacing’s most prestige lines, the standards we set for this were rather high. Particularly since this is part of the Office Series, you expect a strong level of professionalism to be shown throughout. In these regards, we were never disappointed. The entire chair feels exceptionally well made with the attention to detail and near invisible stitchwork. This doesn’t do much in the way of outright ostentatious design, but there are more than enough things going on with this design aesthetically to tick all of the right boxes.
You wouldn’t expect to see bright colours in an office chair. You expect excellent design quality and unquestionable comfort. In regards to the AKRacing Office Series Obsidian Chair, if this is what you’re looking for, this more than meets your needs and surpasses them. If anything, this chair places more emphasis on comforting your body rather than your eyes. As far as we are concerned though, it’s a delight for both!
Pros
- Near faultless build quality.
- Exceptionally comfortable.
- 3D adjustment armrests.
- Tilt lock with a nice solid control handle and excellent recline level.
- Lumbar and head cushions included.
- ‘Pleather’ covering throughout looks strong, durable, but very comfortable. It should also be a doddle to clean.
- Exceptionally strong aesthetics for what could have been a bland look.
- A truly high-performance chair that would not look out of place in any environment.
Cons
- None.
Neutral
- The armrests are not covered or well padded. A minor factor, but one we might have expected for a chair of this price.
