Chances are slim, but if you were planning to purchase Alan Wake sometime after May 15, you’re going to have to move your timetable up a notch. That’s because this particular game is about to disappear from digital stores very soon. The good news is that the entire Alan Wake franchise is now available with a 90% discount. This includes the original game, all DLC, and Alan Wake’s American Nightmare. The reason for removal has something to do with music licensing, but it looks like Remedy is planning to solve the issue as soon as possible.
You’re probably wondering how this affects people who have already bought the game. Apparently, they will still be able to download and play it normally, which is definitely cause for relief. While Alan Wake will indeed vanish from digital stores, Alan Wake’s American Nightmare will remain available. We’re not exactly sure why Remedy has skipped on renewing the music license for Alan Wake. It’s true that the game was released quite some time ago, but that doesn’t mean that it’s not yet relevant to the horror action-adventure gaming scene.
