Aliens vs Predator

“Want some Candy?”

Personally i don’t usually eat candy, but when offered by the Predator i wouldn’t like to say no just encase he rips my spine out.

The Alien however would probably snap a bit of candy up in a flash with its you know what.

In a more realistic and present reality however, they would be battling it out head to head like warriors to the death…..with some pesky Colonial Marines sticking their noses in screaming and bleeding everywhere.

You might be glad to hear that the Aliens vs Predator franchise will not only be returning to the PC but also be making its debut onto the current generation of consoles.

The game will be published by SEGA and developed by Rebellion, the original creators of the SIERRA published Aliens vs Predator 1 & 2 for the PC back in the mid 90s.

Set soon after the events of ‘Aliens’ the game we can for now only assume will be based more on the Aliens film than that of any of the Predator or AvP films.

Excellent news i say as i would of loved to see the Predator decapitate an Alien whilst Pvt.Hudson is raging with his Pulse Rifle ‘come on, you want some, come get some, oh you want some too!?…….what…the….hell……Hicks i didn’t know your mom was here?….’

“Each species has its own single player campaign, featuring skills and weapons unique to each type. And each campaign interweaves with the others stories.” Quoted from Nuts Magazine.

Take a look the Nuts magazine scan below for some more info and what seems to be some intriguing game play screen shots.

I’m sure i am one of many looking forward to battling it out with the Xenomorphs, but will it live up to its long awaited hype?

I was already disappointed with Gearbox’s pull on the release of Aliens:Colonial Marines. It was supposed to be released on 28th March this year…my birthday. Now it seems we will have to wait atleast another year for that as a release date is unconfirmed.

The first games in the AvP series were a huge success and still have a large fan base, i even almost bought AvP2 from Amazon about a year ago as i missed it so…..i wish i did now. Dammit!
Hopefully Rebellion don’t stray too far from the original game play as it was and still is excellent when compared to other, newer games. With the power of the 360/PS3 and the current generation of graphics cards by ATI & Nvidia, it should look rather brilliant, especially if those images from Nuts are anything to go by.
However……the original games seemed to be some what unbalanced.
Most never chose the Marines during online play due to a lack of speed when compared with the Alien and lack of firepower when compared to the Predator.
Cannon fodder comes to mind.
Fingers crossed though that Rebellion find a good balance of strengths and weaknesses between the 3 species and it will actually be a war this time instead of a slaughter.
A release date is still unconfirmed but a lot of people seem to think it will be in Q1/Spring 2010.
Play.com also have a release date of 26/03/2010…..2 days before my next birthday….
Definitely a worthy birthday present if its available then.
And remember…..

“They’re coming outta the walls! They’re coming outta the god damn walls!”
