German cooling product manufacturer Alpenfohn has a new RGB LED CPU cooler coming soon. It is called the Ben Nevis Advanced Black RGB and comes with a 130mmRGB LED fan. Using a direct-touch copper heatpipe design with four 6mm heatpipes, the Ben Nevis Advanced Black RGB has a 150W TDP rating. These heatpipes are arranged in asymmetrical order to provide clearance for the DRAM with the fan installed.
As the name suggests, the entire heatsink is colored black with the exception of the contact base. The U-shape tower also has clearance along the bottom row of aluminium fins to provide additional component clearance. 130mm is an unusual fan size for a heatsink as it is typically 120mm or 140mm. However, since it uses fan clip mounting, 120mm fans should also be compatible for mounting. The bundled fan itself measures 130 x 130 x 25mm and uses a hydraulic bearing with a PWM range of 500 to 1500 RPM. Within this range, it produces noise levels from 8 to 25.9 dB(A) and pushes 95.4 m3/h at max.
Like any modern cooler should the Alpenfohn Ben Nevis Advanced Black RGB comes with AM4 and LGA2066 support out of the box. That means users do not need to send in a request for an upgrade kit or purchase a separate attachment. It does not have native Threadripper support however, which is understandable considering the 150W TDP. Also, the Threadripper contact surface area is massive and requires specialty coolers anyway.
