Self-build price – Approx £1283.91 AlphaSync Price – £1299.99
AlphaSync has done it again, delivering a very nice quality system at an incredible price. Coming in just £16.08 more expensive than building it yourself. That’s pretty fantastic value in my opinion as they’ve sourced all the parts, including the PSU which are basically like unicorns in the consumer market right now. They’ve tested everything is compatible, they’ve found parts that are aesthetically pleasing together. Plus, they’ve setup all the software, drivers, etc. They’ve done incredible work with the cable management too, giving you an ultra-clean system right out of the box. Then they have the grace to put a 3 year warranty on all of it. That’s 1 year parts and 3 years labour.
For 1080p gamers, you’ll be ripping through any of the latest games at ultra settings, or dialling back to med-high if you’re planning on pushing 144hz monitors. I don’t think even the most demanding games will struggle at this resolution.
For 1440p gaming or ultra-wide monitor users, you’ll be more than happy with what the RTX 2060 SUPER has. It’s a punchy little card and the Ryzen 5 3600XT helps push the performance too with its improved boost speeds. 60 FPS+ should not be an issue for any game here.
4K gaming isn’t out of the question either, but if you’re putting that amount into your monitor, stepping up to the RTX 2070 SUPER or even a 2080 would be recommended if you want to leave the graphics slider in the high+ area.
It’s a really good system for daily use. The main SSD is plenty fast for gaming, but also speeds up things like Photoshop and other editing programs. I do think adding a second stick of RAM would be a worthy investment though, plus I just think it looks odd with only one stick (or is that just me?). The 3600XT is a great CPU though, and even when it comes to really demanding video rendering and editing, you’ll find it’s 6-core and 12-thread setup to be more of a benefit than a hindrance.
Once again, I think you’re hard pushed to beat what’s on offer here. The price is simply amazing. I could build it myself, but even I don’t have the time these days, I just want to boot the thing and play. Plus, the team at AlphaSync have done such a fine job of cable management, configuration and more with this PC. The added peace of mind of a singular warranty on the whole system, not just per-component is too good to ignore too. If you’re eager to play the latest and greatest PC games, but also need a punchy work rig, this is the one to get right now. Highly recommended.
