The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Game To Arrive Next Spring

Activision Publishing and Marvel Entertainment have announced that the video game The Amazing Spider-Man 2 has a planned launch date for next spring, alongside Sony Pictures movie by the same name. It’s developed by the same people who released the original game.

The game, which is being developed by Beenox (a wholly owned subsidiary of Activision), will build on the story of the previous game, The Amazing Spider-Man, but will feature an alternate take on the events that take place in the upcoming movie. It will give players an enhanced, free-roaming experience in a much expanded New York City area, and there will be more abilities, more upgrades, more challenges and more freedom to progress in the game.

The game also will include a “Hero of Menace” system that will reward players for taking out bad guys and has negative consequences if criminal activity is left to fester in the city.

The game will launch for the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, Xbox 360, Wii U, 3DS and Windows PC. The movie has a reported release date of May 2nd, 2014. Below is the teaser trailer released at Comic Con yesterday.
