Amazon has decided to close their forums for both its Lost Ark and New World MMOs in favour of using Discord servers instead.
Amazon has decided that their forum pages for New World and Lost Ark just aren’t good enough and instead believes Discord to be the superior alternative and has decided to close the forums for both games. Amazon left a closing message on the forums of both games which were identical with just the names swapped over.
With the launch of our official Lost Ark/New World Discord along with the features, functionality, and accessibility for players we have made the decision to embrace Discord as our primary engagement platform for Lost Ark moving forward. To help us add as much value as possible to our Discord server, we will be sunsetting the Lost Ark/New World forums.
Looking at the threads regarding this news in both the New World and Lost Ark forums, many fans are not happy with this decision with many complaining in the threads. One user Bubbly stated that they prefer forums due to the individual threads for different conversations making it easier to find old conversations rather than having to hunt through a discord where people are having several conversations at once. Not everyone is unhappy though as some saw the forums as just a toxic mess where people would do nothing but argue and complain. I don’t follow either of these games but I see where people are coming from when it comes to Discord not being a good replacement. Discord is great for chatting with friends but large servers get cluttered quickly whilst a forum is a lot more organised.
