The new 2017 Fire HD 10 tablet from Amazon is finally available. It brings double the RAM and double the base model storage capacity to 2GB and 32GB respectively. The new quad-core processor is also 30% faster than before, operating at 1.8GHz. The display itself gets a 1920 x 1200 resolution screen over the 2015 version’s 1280 x 800.
Users can also expect to be able to use it longer too, improving battery life from 8 to 10. The Fire HD 10 even has a memory expansion slot for MicroSD cards up to 256GB.
The new update also marks the first time that the Fire tablet gets Alexa hands-free functionality. This means users can speak directly to the device like they would with an Echo.
Better Amazon Fire HD 10 for a Lower Price
Another major change that is sure to make fans happy is the fact that the new 2017 Fire HD 10 tablet is more affordable than the 2015 Fire HD 10 tablet. In fact, the 32GB base model is available for just £149. Which is the same price as the 7-inch smaller Fire HD 2015 tablet. Even the 64GB model has an MSRP of just £179. These prices puts them at half the price of the 9.7-inch Apple iPad.
It is available for pre-order now in three color options: black, marine blue and punch red.
