Amazon is to arrive in the travel business. They’re reportedly launching ‘Amazon Travel’, allowing you to book hotel rooms from their website.
The new service, which is rumoured to launch in January, would allow hotels to list rooms available, with Amazon taking a 15% cut on any earnings made from the site.
At the moment they’ve been selecting a limited number of hotels in Seattle, New York and Los Angeles to take part in the new service from launch. It is believed that in the future any hotel will be able to list on Amazon, much in the same way any other product is currently listed on the site, with photos, a description and customer reviews.
