Amazon Leaks Information About XCOM And Civilization V Arriving On Linux

If we’re to believe the information Amazon is posting up on its store then we can expect XCOM Enemy Unknown and Civilization V to arrive on Linux by the end of this month. Amazon are offering the above “2K Definitive Strategy Collection” which includes XCOM Enemy Unknown and Civilization V for $29.99 – the release date is stated as October 22nd. This double pack has multiple-OS support and the product page reads: “Multiple (Windows and Linux): select platform(s)”, while the platform support entry states “Platform: Windows Vista / 2000 / Me / XP, Linux”.
Rumours of Civilization V coming to Linux have already circulated after Valve demonstrated the functionality of the SteamOS running Civilization V – and since SteamOS is Linux based it is all starting to make sense. Amazon quotes a launch date of this double pack for October 22nd and no doubt we will see it made available via other mediums (such as on Steam for Linux) in the near future too. Of course you can already buy these games on the Steam Store but from late October Steam should officially certify and add Steam for Linux support for these two titles. Amazon also added NBA 2K14 and NBA 2K13 to the Linux gaming category.
