Amazon has begun testing a redesign of its homepage. The new storefront has been spotted by a select number of users in the US.
The new design seems to point to one thing – greater simplicity. The current version of Amazon’s front page can very easily appear incredibly cluttered and sometimes confusing. The new version introduces a simple, almost page-spanning search bar at the top, clearly positioned with a black border. There is clear and more focused placement of products and services too.
Amazon has apparently been working on changes to its website since July, with a number of versions having been put to the test. This new version is seemingly one of many, but it appears that this one is the first to have such a wide showing.
What do you think about the new design? More focused or too simple? Also, have you started seeing the new design? Let us know.
