After being available for Kindle for three years and iPhone and iPads for two years, Amazon’s X-Ray feature has finally made it to Kindle on Android. The X-Ray feature gives users access to encyclopaedic details incorporated into their favourite books.

With X-Ray, readers can find a list of characters and where they appear in the book, a glossary of terms (useful for understanding made-up words; think the Nadsat dialect from Anthony Burgess’ A Clockwork Orange, which features obscure words like moloko, droog, or chelloveck), and highlights significant or famous scenes and phrases. The features is also useful to students, offering the ability to make flashcards, bookmarks, and page notes.

Kindle X-Ray is available in the most recent update of the Amazon Kindle app.
