Amazon’s New Premium Music Unlimited Service Now Available

Amazon Music Unlimited is here at last, offering up a rock solid competitor to Spotify, Apple Music and Google Play Music. The new on-demand service is basically a relaunch of Prime Music, under the new name Amazon Music Unlimited.

Straight out of the gates, Amazon has some big advantages to tempt users to the service, the first being the price, as it’s just $7.99 a month or $79 a year for Prime members, cheaper than all major rivals. However, if you’ve got the Amazon Echo device, then you can sub for just $3.99 a month. Those who don’t subscribe to prime will pay up $9.99 a month, and Amazon is working to release a six-account family plan for $14.99 a month or $149 for the year.

With Amazon having deals will all three major music publishing firms, as well as thousands of indie labels, they’re sporting tens of millions of songs to keep you entertained and with such a competitive market already established, it needs to. The service will use a recommendation engine to bring you new music, with options to download music in advance for your listening pleasure based on what it thinks you would enjoy.

There’s a new overhaul to the existing Prime Music apps too, giving it a much nicer interface, while Echo and Alexa have been fully integrated and it’ll learn to respond to a wide range of music requests, create playlists for you and more.
