With the AMD Radeon RX 7900 XT and 7900 XTX graphics cards set for release on December 13th, while the reference models certainly look fantastic, a lot of consumers would clearly be turning their attention to custom models from AIB partners. – In this regard, however, information appeared online earlier this week suggesting that designs from companies like MSI, ASUS, Gigabyte, etc. would not actually be ready for retail release until much later in the month.
Following a Twitter post by ‘@ComputerBase‘, however, an update has seemingly confirmed that while we might not be able to expect masses of custom designs on December 13th, some will apparently be ready to go!
According to the source, it seems pretty clear that we shouldn’t expect masses of custom AMD 7900 series graphics cards to be available on the December 13th release date. Unlike the prior leak, however, this new source is at least claiming that some AIB partners will have their designs ready to go straight out the door which is clearly a lot more encouraging to consumers than prior indications which were pointing more towards very late in December.
A follow-up post has even elaborated on this further by saying that both PowerColor and Sapphire will have their own 7900 XT/XTX designs available. Something which isn’t overly surprising given the number of 7900 XT/XTX teasers PowerColor has been posting recently!
As noted above, AMD’s own reference design looks absolutely fantastic and with it hopefully set to hold its MSRP price, both the 7900 XT and 7900 XTX seem to represent some excellent, and dare I say affordable, high-end GPU options. – Having at least a few custom AIB models to sway us, however, will clearly be a nice option for early adopters to have.
What do you think though? Are you planning to get an AMD Radeon RX 7900 series GPU? If so, which model? – Let us know in the comments!
