AMD A10-7870K Godavari APU Review

Power Consumption and Temperatures

Power Consumption

The APU consumes significantly more power than Intel’s dual-core rival and AMD still lingers behind in this area. Saying that, it’s not the fairest comparison because the iGPU portion is more capable and the extra two CPU cores increase the wattage demands.

Temperatures

Using HWInfo to monitor the product’s thermal values, it’s clear that the APU remains relatively cool under load. Also, the overclock doesn’t make a huge impact and only caused the APU’s temperature to raise by 2C.
