AMD Adrenalin 22.2.2 Drivers Bring Smart Access Memory Gaming Optimisations!
Mike Sanders / 3 years ago
AMD has announced the launch of its latest Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 graphics card drivers offering game ready support for Total War: Warhammer III. In something of a mildly unusual occurrence for such as a release, however, I think it would be fair to say that this probably isn’t the key highlight. – So, if that’s not, what is? Well, offering a huge range of Smart Access Memory (SAM) optimisations, this latest GPU driver update should provide significant performance boosts (under the right circumstances) for 7 other major gaming titles!

So, what is Smart Access Memory? Well, keeping things as simple as concise as possible, when a system features both an AMD Ryzen 5000 and Radeon RX 6000 or RX 5000 series graphics card, a hugely more optimal and collaborative means of (basically) allocating resources can be made. – In a nutshell, if you have an AMD Ryzen 5000 and Radeon 5000 or 6000 graphics card, you’re going to want to make this update!
Support For:
- Total War : Warhammer III
AMD Smart Access Memory optimizations for AMD Ryzen processors with integrated graphics paired with discrete Radeon graphics can be found below:
- Up to 24% increase in performance in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla @ 1080p Ultra High settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 on the Ryzen 9 5900HX and Radeon RX 6800M, versus the previous software driver version 22.2.1.
- Up to 23% increase in performance in Battlefield 5 @ 1080p Ultra settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 on the Ryzen 7 5800H and Radeon RX 6600M, versus the previous software driver version 22.2.1
- Up to 18% increase in performance in Borderlands 3 @ 1080p Badass settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 on the Ryzen 9 5900HX and Radeon RX 6800M, versus the previous software driver version 22.2.1.
- Up to 17% increase in performance in F1 2021 @ 1080p Ultra High settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 on the Ryzen 7 5800H and Radeon RX 6600M, versus the previous software driver version 22.2.1.
- Up to 12% increase in performance in Gears 5 @ 1080p High settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 on the Ryzen 7 5800H and Radeon RX 6600M, versus the previous software driver version 22.2.1.
- Up to 11% increase in performance in Fortnite @ 1080p Ultra settings, using Radeon Software Adrenalin 22.2.2 on the Ryzen 7 5800H and Radeon RX 6600M, versus the previous software driver version 22.2.1.

Where Can I Get My Update?
As always, if you already have the AMD Adrenalin Edition app installed on your PC (which you certainly should if you have one of their graphics cards), then a quick check of it should now prompt you to download and update to this latest 22.2.2 driver release. Which, as noted above, presuming you have a Ryzen 5000 CPU sat on your system, sounds like an amazingly good idea! If that doesn’t work, however, you can learn more (and/or manually download it) via the link here!
