AMD has just unveiled their latest graphics range dubbed the Radeon Pro 400. This new family of power-efficient graphics processors are designed for content creators including artists, designers, photographers and much more. The Radeon Pro 400 will be available first to anyone investing in the latest generation MacBook Pro. As expected, the chips are manufactured on the 14nm FinFET architecture and harness the power of Polaris. On another note, AMD has used a complex “die thinning” process to reduce the thickness of water of silicon from 780 microns to 380 microns. This allows the company to reduce the thinnest possible solution and deliver wonderful energy efficiency, resulting in cool and quiet operation.
Raja Koduri, senior vice president and chief architect, Radeon Technologies Group, AMD said about the new series:
“We couldn’t be more proud to have Radeon Pro 400 Series Graphics launching in the new 15-inch MacBook Pro, a notebook designed for performance and creativity,”
“Today there are millions of professional creators and designers, and a billion more who aspire to reach the next level. Radeon Pro 400 Series Graphics are a powerful and versatile creative technology that gives makers entirely new ways to create the art of the impossible no matter where they are.”
To tie-in with this impressive launch, AMD has unveiled a programme entitled “Meet the Creators”. This brings content creators together and allows them to share information on their projects. As a result, people can collaborate on projects across different fields and receive feedback to improve their work even further.
