With Nvidia now having confirmed the launch of its 40XX series of graphics cards (with, admittedly, the 4090 taking centre stage) this did, of course, now leave the doors open for when AMD would officially launch their own Radeon 7000 graphics cards. – With many prior rumours having pointed towards November, however, following a Twitter post by Scott Herkelman, Senior Vice President and General Manager at AMD Radeon, we now have categorical confirmation that the Radeon 7000 series will officially be unveiled on November 3rd!
Now, admittedly, you do have to question the timing considering that AMD formally confirmed this news less than two hours before Nvidia’s 40XX GTC event. With that being said though, it’s already understood that the Radeon 7000 series is going to take a key focus on performance to the watt. Particularly so with its new RDNA3 architecture and its 5nm node design and Infinity Cache technology.
Will AMD Radeon 7000 have enough to compete with Nvidia 40XX? In terms of outright comparative performance, probably not. As often is the case though, if they can offer a solid bit of competition at a more attractive price point, anything is possible and especially so with consumers more than itchy for a long overdue upgrade!
