In just 10 days, AMD is set to hold their Capsaicin and Cream live stream event at GDC. As you might already notice from the title, the event is focused on the Radeon GPU side of the business. While there were rumours about more product reveals, AMD has now more or less confirmed that we will be seeing some new graphics cards then.
According to AMD’s own Radeon GDC page, the live stream event will kick off what will be known as the “Summer of Radeon”. Starting GDC with a bang, we will get a chance to have an exclusive glimpse into the latest graphics and VR technologies. This obviously means we will likely be seeing a glimpse of Vega which was already teased as well as a possible launch or at least reveal of the new RX 500 series of cards.
In addition to the Vega and RX 500 main event, AMD is also hosting a number of other sessions at GDC. In addition to the Ryzen optimisation panel, we also have sessions on DirectX 12, Vulkan, GCN, Async Compute as well as other AMD-specific technologies. The live stream kicks off on February 28th 10:30 AM PT so be sure to tune then in then for live coverage!
