So, the existence of the AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT has, quite possibly, been one of the worst kept secrets of the early part of 2021. Yes, admittedly, based on the prior generation of GPUs from Team Red, we always knew it was going to happen. In terms of anything concrete, though, very little has passed the lips of Dr Lisa Su regarding this particular model.
Well, following a formal announcement on AMD’s official Twitter account, we now have confirmation. The Radeon RX 6700 XT graphics card does exist and, better still, it will be launched next week!
Set to be revealed during a live-streamed event (which admittedly has almost certainly been pre-recorded), AMD has confirmed that the Radeon RX 6700 XT will officially be launched during this showcase is set to start at 4 pm (GMT) on March 3rd.
With the release of the first confirmed image of the ‘reference’ graphics card (pictured above), the only remaining question mark is whether this event will solely cover the 6700 XT or whether they will also choose to officially launch the standard 6700.
In terms of specifications, the 6700 XT is shaping up, at least on paper, to be an excellent graphics card for reasonably budget-focused gamers. I have to admit that I myself am eying this up with more than just a little professional interest. Of course though, while the launch is exciting, and more than a little indication that it will be released at the end of the month, one of the biggest questions from consumers is whether this graphics card is actually going to be supplied in sufficient quantities. – Hopefully, though, it is, and more so, AMD will address this matter during the event.
You can, incidentally, check out this and all of AMD’s other Radeon 6000 related videos via the link here! – Remember though, the 6700 XT kicks off on March 3rd at 4pm (GMT).
