AMD Confirms Radeon RX Vega Branding

During their Capsaicin & Cream event live stream today, AMD made a number of announcements concerning their future plans. Despite being mostly a developer focused event, there were a number of consumer-oriented announcements, some of them about Vega. One of the bigs ones to come out is the new name AMD will be using for their Vega based GPUs, the Radeon RX Vega.
The new Radeon RX Vega name goes hand in hand with the reveal of the new “V” logo which in my opinion looks fantastic. With the new high-end GPUs based off of Vega, this marks a replacement of the R9 branding we say with the R9 Nano, R9 Fury and R9 Fury X Fiji based graphics cards. This brings the high-end branding in line with the RX branding for the mainstream lineup.
Just as we saw with Radeon ReLive, the Radeon RX Vega branding will be consistent across both the consumer and professional sides of things. This continues the moves AMD is doing to better integrate their consumer and professional products with a unified brand. Unfortunately, despite previous rumours, there was no new information on Radeon RX 500. There are still a couple of sessions left at GDC so perhaps more information will come out then.
