AMD (For Reasons Unclear) Scraps Ryzen 7000X3D Feb 14th Release Date!

As part of an update to their official website earlier this week, AMD seemingly confirmed that their brand new and highly-anticipated Ryzen 7000X3D processors were set for a general consumer release on February 14th. – With this falling pretty much in line with what was revealed at their launch event at CES 2023 earlier this month, it certainly didn’t seem to raise many questions at the time. The timing seemed about right!

If you were looking forward to the release of these three new next-gen X3D-based CPU models, then I’m afraid we have some bad news!

Following a report via Videocardz, AMD has confirmed that the February 14th release date stated on their website was issued in error and that, at least at the time of writing, they are still yet to confirm exactly when we should expect them to land on retail shelves!

AMD Scraps Feb 14th Ryzen 7000X3D Release Date as an Error!

The reason for this announcement/amendment is unclear, but our best guess is that February 14th was likely a placeholder piece of information which accidentally snuck out when their website. – In confirming the error, AMD has said:

“As you know, today AMD.com briefly published a launch date for the Ryzen 7000X3D Series Desktop processors; however, that date is incorrect. We have not confirmed a launch date at this time. We will provide updates on the expected availability of these processors at a future date”

Rest assured though, Ryzen 7000X3D is still coming, and may indeed still be set for some point around this February 14th date. For the moment though, all we can say for certain is that in terms of a release date, we’re still waiting on AMD to give us some formal confirmation.

Well, confirmation without them promptly retracting it at least!
