AMD Delays Ryzen 9000-Series Launch Due to Quality Issues

AMD has postponed the retail release of its new Ryzen 9000-series processors. The company discovered an issue with the first batch of chips during final quality checks. Initially set to launch on July 31, the processors will now be available in August.

Launch Postponed to August Following Faulty Chip Discovery

AMD found the problem only after shipping the initial batch to its partners. This discovery has led to a delay in production and distribution. The company has not specified the exact nature of the fault. However, it confirmed that the issue surfaced during the final stage of checks.

New Release Dates

AMD plans to release the Ryzen 7 9700X and Ryzen 5 9600X on August 8. The Ryzen 9 9950X and Ryzen 9 9900X will follow on August 15. This delay ensures that the chips meet AMD’s high-quality standards.

This delay means consumers will have to wait a bit longer to get their hands on the new processors. However, early tests suggest that the Ryzen 9000-series will support faster DDR5 memory speeds.
