AMD detailed the Forward+ graphics technology further at its GPU 14 press conference. The new Forward+ technology deploys hardware level MSAA and complex lighting systems. It has the ability to act in the way that deferred rendering would and is able to generate thousands of real time animated lights. Of course this latest technology is supported by AMD’s latest generation of RX 2XX graphics cards.
You can read a more in-depth explanation of what Forward+ is right here. Explained simply Forward+ is a new way of bringing deferred lighting to that next level. It offers a new way to visually improve current generation game graphics to take advantage of the immense GPU horsepower the latest GPUs have – notably those from the AMD RX 2XX series.
