AMD Releases 17.11.2 Beta Driver For Star Wars Battlefront II

AMD is keeping up their track record for release date support. Keeping with the raft of Autumn releases, AMD is releasing the new Radeon Crimson ReLive Drivers 17.11.2 Optional Drivers. The new release provides support for EA’s soon to be released Star Wars Battlefront II title. As a beta driver, it is not WHQL certified.
Unlike previous releases, AMD is not claiming any specific performance increase. Beyond new game support, AMD is including a number of other changes. One of the bug fixes is green corruption that is plaguing a number of scenarios. Radeon ReLive recordings and Radeon WattMan settings are also getting tweaks as well. Despite their age, HD 7000 GPUs are still getting fixes, but that is likely due to an update that broke something.
AMD Drivers Continue New Trajectory
In terms of known issues, the list continues to grow. Some of these problems are edge cases but others are more troubling. This is especially true of the system and application stability and corruption. Given that number of new features being pushed, more bugs are relatively natural.
With a slow down in game releases, AMD will likely have more time to work on bug fixes. Given the current track record, we will likely see another driver release at the end of the month or early December. With Intel now using Radeon Vega iGPUs for their CPUs, Radeon drivers will likely take on a new importance at the company. You can find the drivers and full release notes here.
