AMD FSR4 Coming to Black Ops 6 With Radeon RX 9070 Series

The good folks over at VideoCardz have found another gem from what must be the AMD plans for CES 2025, revealing the new AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4, which is a bit of a mouthful, so we’ll stick with calling it FSR4!
AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 4 – FSR4
The leaked slide (see above) suggests that FSR4 is ready, but with the caveat that it may only work on the latest generation of AMD graphics cards that are set to launch very soon. This could be due to the new cards featuring RDNA4 hardware, which contains their 3rd generation of AI acceleration cores, and this is most likely a simple hardware requirement for FSR4. However, I wouldn’t be all that surprised if we saw some form of FSR4 roll out to some older cards in the future, as AMD has a habit of supporting as much hardware as possible for longer than most.
The new FSR4 will focus on high-resolution upscaling and will work with both Frame Generation and Anti-Lag 2, making it a strong competitor for the likes of DLSS 3 upscaling and DLSS Frame Generation technologies.
Another excerpt from the slides ready that “AMD FSR 4 upgrade feature only available on AMD Radeon RX 9070 series graphics for supported games with AMD FSR 3.1 already integrated.”
When is AMD FSR4 Available?
With AMD listing 9070 in the slide, does this mean it’s only on that GPU, or as we just missing more information? It’s hard to tell at this time, but it’s certainly strange. Either way, new AMD hardware is on the horizon, with AMD FSR4 support being made available in Black Ops 6 first, it doesn’t look like we’ll be waiting long to try it out.
We’ll update you as soon as we know more.
