AMD’s business class processors aren’t anything new, they made business class processors out of the Phenom and Athlon series – for example the AMD Phenom X4 9600B.
The “B” denotes the processor being a business class product, which in turn means that the processor has been cherry picked for adhering to rated specifications and reliability/longevity.
Current generation Llano APUs and Bulldozer FX processors didn’t see the “B” class. Partially because AMD has turned its focus to Interlagos Opteron processors and FirePro APUs for business customers. Yet AMD isn’t going to neglect the business crowd with its Trinity APUs, since it recognises that some business may find a need for the hybrid CPU/GPU products Trinity offer.
We’re going to see four AMD “B” Trinity APUs. The A4-5300B, The A6-5400B, The A8-5500B and The A10-5800B.
The first part, the A4-5300B, has 2 cores @ 3.4GHz with 1MB of L2 cache and a 65W TDP. Its part number is AD530BOKA23HJ.
The A6-5400B has 2 cores @ 3.6GHz with 1MB of L2 cache and a 65W TDP. Its part number is AD540BOKA23HJ.
The step to the A8 brings more cores. The A8-5500B has 4 cores @3.2GHz with 4MB of L2 cache and a 65W TDP. Its part number is AD550BOKA44HJ.
Finally the A10-5800B has 4 cores @ 3.8GHz with 4MB of L2 cache and a 100W TDP. Its part number is AD580BWOA44HJ.
All this information comes courtesy of leaked pages from Lenovo and HP which were later removed. It is believed that the AMD business class Trinity APUs will launch on September the 11th.
