AMD may be working on introducing their 3D V-Cache technology to another AM4 CPU in the form of the Ryzen 5 5600X3D.
Ryzen 5 5600X3D In The Works
This chip was leaked by chi11eddog on Twitter (Via VideoCardz) showing off a product code for the Ryzen 5 5600X3D to go alongside the existing 5800X3D. Compared to the 5800X3D this chip would feature 3MB L2 cache just 1MB lower than the 5800X3D but will feature the same L3 cache of 96MB. The 5600X3D will also be clocked 100 MHz lower at 3.3 GHz and boosts of 4.4GHz.
So what kind of pricing could we expect from this chip? Currently, the 5800X3D sits at £309.99 on scan.co.uk with the 5600X sitting at £149.99 which places my bets somewhere around the £200 mark which is what the 5800X non-3D is currently priced at. This chip personally won’t appeal to me seeing as i already own a 5600X and the only way should be up but someone on older platforms may see it as a good upgrade if they are out of the budget of the 5800X3D and want 3D V Cache.
What do you think of a future 5600X3D chip? Let us know in the comments.
