AMD Officially Introduces Radeon RX 560 Graphics Card Starting at $99

AMD has finally officially announced the Radeon RX 560 video card. The release of this model slotted between the RX 570 and entry-level RX 55 is known for a while. Several partner boards leaked showing custom designs and clock speeds. The entry-level RX 550 officially costs $89 USD, but the new Radeon RX 560 is priced at only $10 more at $99. The $99 price tag only applies to the 2GB GDDR5 variant. The 4GB GDDR5 version is priced at $109-$119, depending on the partner board customizations.

Reference RX 560 GPU Specifications

The AMD Radeon RX 560 GPU itself is similar for both 2GB or 4GB version and is called the Baffin XT; It is built on a 14nm process using three billion transistors. Each Baffin XT GPU also has 16 max compute units, 16 ROPs, 64 texture units and 1024 stream processors. The reference model has a base frequency of 1175 MHz and has a boost frequency of 1275MHz. The memory clock runs at 1750MHz or 7000MHz effective on a 128-bit bus.

AMD Radeon Partner Video Card Variants

ASUS video cards leaked early with a STRIX RX 560 Gaming and RX 560 DUAL Fan variant. Gigabyte has a 2GB and a 4GB RX 560 Gaming OC video card with a boost clock set at 1287MHz. PowerColor has two similar memory configurations called the Red Dragon RX 560 that is overclocked up to 1280 MHz (2GB) and 1288MHz (4GB). Sapphire offers two 4GB variants and one 2GB under their Pulse brand. One is a base model with a reference boost clock while both OC 2GB and OC 4GB versions run at 1300MHz boost clock speed.
