AMD Phenom II X4 975 3.60GHz AM3 Processor

Conclusion
This CPU is incredible for the money but is still using old-hat technology in the shape of the Deneb core. It’s fantastic for the likes of a novice PC builder who does not wish to overclock as it gives stellar performance and when factoring in the great overclocking potential (4ghz+) you have a final last hurrah for Deneb.
Especially useful is the continued backwards compatibility to the AM2+ socket giving users a cheaper upgrade than if using an Intel based system. This also gives users on DDR2 a little bit more flexibility of what they’re wanting to do with their system.
Personally, we feel that whilst AMD were proud to get something extra out of their old Deneb core processor range, the price point is a bit too high, even when comparing to flagship Intel processors, as you get the likes of Hyperthreading. If on a budget and you’re wanting to keep up with the game on your AM2+ system before the huge jump to Bulldozer, then this is for you, but if not, don’t bother.
