The next generation AMD Phoenix APUs featuring Zen4 and RDNA3 architecture may be set for a late April release.
AMD Ryzen Pheonix APUs For April Launch
AMD’s Phoenix APUs were first announced in January at CES which will be the successor to the Ryzen 6000 series and are set to utilise updated Zen 4 architecture with RDNA3 graphics and set to follow the naming scheme of the Ryzen 7040 series. These APUs were expected to release in March but announced that they would be delayed until April so they could ensure the best possible user experience. AMD never gave a specific date within April for the launch however, information has been supposedly leaked online regarding this date.
Release Date Leaked on Billibilli
According to Golden Pig Upgrade, who has previously been known for leaks, it is claimed that we will see these processors in late April after posting on the Chinese video-sharing site that “7840HS will be issued on the 30th, and 7840U will be issued on the 1st (probably).” These dates seem plausible however April 30th would be a Sunday so the following week seems to be the more likely timeframe. If you are expecting to grab the latest generation zen4 APU-based laptop then you’ve likely only got a few more weeks to wait.
