Although we’re still pending official confirmation, a lot of rumours over the last couple of weeks have strongly indicated that AMD will officially announce the launch of their new Ryzen 7000 processors on August 29th with a release date set for September 15th. – Yep, in other words, we’re possibly just slightly over a month away from finally seeing what AMD can do with their brand new AM5 socket and next-generation of CPUs.
While we are, of course, expecting a lot of good new things to come, following a report via Videocardz, it appears that this might also be including the packaging as a leaked render of what is reported to be the boxwork for the Ryzen 7000 series of processors has appeared online!
Although there have, of course, been a few little changes here and there over the years, the packaging for Ryzen processors (excluding things like Threadripper) has predominantly stayed the same since the platform originally arrived back in 2017. – It seems, however, that the release of their new Ryzen 7000 isn’t just bringing a new AM5 socket, but it seems AMD also wants to give their packaging image a bit of a tweak too.
No, it’s nowhere near as impressive as some of the stuff Intel has done in the past for their flagship desktop models (the dodecahedron box for the i9-9900K will remain legendary), but if this leak is proven accurate, it does seem to signify the start of a new chapter for AMD.
