AMD Radeon 590 FFXV Benchmarks Appear Online

AMD Radeon 590 FFXV Benchmarks Leak Online

Over the last few weeks, we’ve heard an increasing number of rumours pointing towards the existence of a brand new AMD graphics card. Well, ok, brand new is a bit of a stretch as the rumours have also (mostly) suggested that it will simply be an upgraded version of the current RX 580, but using a 12nm chip.

Well, in a report via Videocardz, benchmarks from the Final Fantasy XV tool would appear to confirm that the AMD RX 590 does, indeed, exist and it’s not looking too shabby either!

How Good Is It?

Well, the benchmarks clearly show that this performs better in the game than the other RX cards such as the 480 and 580. What about Nvidia though? Well, through the 480 and 580 lifespans it was always competing against the Nvidia 1060 (and generally always falling just ever so slightly short). It seems though that on this occasion, the RX 590 finally has the 1060 beat!

Speaking Of The 1060…

It seems that Radeon finally (at least on the ‘standard’ level of graphics cards) has its rival beat. Don’t think Nvidia hasn’t paid attention though. Last week, rumours began circulating that Nvidia (well, Gigabyte specifically) was working on an improved update to the 1060. As such, while AMD might have seemingly won the battle for the moment, the war appears far from over.

We’ve said it before in previous posts. If AMD can keep this well priced, the RX 590 could be a huge success. At the very least, one last hurrah for the Polaris architecture!
