AMD Releases Radeon Crimson ReLive 17.9.3 Drivers

Over the past couple of months, AMD has kept up an astounding pace of driver updates. September is no different and we are now seeing the third full driver release for the month. Radeon Crimson ReLive 17.9.3 is a beta optional release as expected and brings support for new titles as well various bug fixes. The headliner is support for Total War: WARHAMMER II and Forza Motorsport 7.
In the case of Total War: WARHAMMER II, AMD is throwing in the Radeon Chill and Multi GPU support in from the start. We also have some substantial fixes that got released. Due to the switch to multi GPU in lieu of Crossfire, there are some fixes here. RX Vega GPUs will have the proper idle clocks in multi-GPU builds. The RX 580 also gets a fix for negative performance scaling in F1 2017. Lastly, the drop down option for Enhanced Sync is no longer missing for RX Vega graphics cards.
AMD Still Tweaking Radeon Settings and Software
There are also a number of notable issues that remain unresolved. One major one is Radeon WattMan profiles not resetting to default from a crash. Overwatch is also still experiencing some stability issues with the latest driver. There are also various issues that remain to be fixed for Eyefinity, Radeon ReLive recording and Radeon Settings and Software. Hopefully, the more troublesome bugs will get quashed shortly.
With only a few days left in the month, the next driver won’t be until October. Given the timely driver releases, I expect we will see at least two releases for the months going forward. Given the crippling nature of some of the bugs, I expect fixes to come shortly. The release of Vega also means AMD’s driver team will be working overtime to fix new bugs from the new architecture.
