F1 2011 is the latest instalment from Codemasters and is based upon the 2011 Formula One season. It utilises the latest DirectX 11 features including shadows, particles and reflections to offer the very best graphics in a fast-paced moving game with depth of field being a key focus. It relies heavily on all aspects of a computer system including GPU and CPU.
F1 2011 saw the biggest surprise that we had throughout the tests, whilst single screen resolutions shown the 2x scaling working to its full, Eyefinity saw an increase that outperformed even a 6970 by a clear margin. Our initial thoughts was that this was a settings error in the game, but double checking that we had everything right and running the benchmarks again showed that this card really was scaling the performance by 2.5x at Eyefinity resolutions.
