As we have seen throughout the testing analogy, the Radeon HD 7770 XT is a cracking card for what it is, its heal treading performance against the 6850 once again shows how much of a performance difference there is between AMD’s 6000 and 7000 series graphics cards. With the performance that the card has to offer, only time will tell if this card has what it takes in the gamers eyes to put down their 5770’s and replace them with this in their systems, but from we have to see here, the 7770 has to potential to do so.

On its own as it is, for the majority of users who may only fancy the odd bit of light gaming, this card would be more than suitable for their needs and if they did want that little bit more down the line, the CrossFire support and AMD’s up to 2x scaling means that they push the cards performance even further and with that even bring Eyefinity game play to a point where the frame rates are what we would class as playable.

The area of this card that we really have to come back to is its core clock speed of 1GHz straight from AMD. We have to remember that this clock is a world first  for a reference card, and is thus a huge selling point for the 7770. How much headroom this would therefore leave for overclocking is another matter but this speed has taken an entry level card and given it a boost up the next level.

How much will this little gem set you back? With the pricing we’ve been given, we have no indication on the UK price point, however expect the card to retail around the $159 (~£100) mark.  With this rough pricing in mind this again shows its worth as a budget card for the everyday user. Naturally expect real world pricing to be a little higher than this once AMD’s partners put it through their design and build departments, but with what we’ve seen from their partners of recent months, expect interesting, sleek looking cards to make their stand on the market.
